How do you work out my offer?
Your offer is the live XAG/GBP spot price, divided to a per-gram rate, multiplied by your silver's measured purity and weight, at a flat 80%. No weight bands, no deductions. You can see the exact maths on our calculator.
What if I don't accept the offer?
Just say no. We post your silver back to you, tracked, signed-for, free of charge, within two working days. We only ever melt items after you've accepted.
How is my parcel protected?
We email a tracked, signed-for Royal Mail Special Delivery label. Every consignment is covered up to £5,000 — if it is lost in transit we make good the agreed value, both on the way to us and on the way back if you decline. Every parcel is opened and weighed on camera. For lots worth more than £5,000, please get in touch first.
Can I sell gold as well as silver?
Yes. Add gold to your lot and it's valued by InstaGold in the same parcel — 80% on the first £100 of gold value and 90% above that — one parcel, one test, one payment.
How quickly will I be paid?
Once you accept, we send a Faster Payment to your bank — usually within 24 hours of your silver arriving, on weekdays.
What silver do you buy?
Sterling (925), fine (999), 800 and 500 silver — cutlery, canteens, tea sets, jewellery, coins, bars and scrap. If you're unsure what you have, send it and we'll test it.
Do I need to clean or sort it first?
No. Send it as it is — we weigh and test everything on arrival. Please don't polish heavily, as that's unnecessary and can occasionally affect weight.
How do you verify who I am?
We use Onfido for a quick, secure identity check. This keeps us compliant with UK anti-money-laundering rules and protects you and us.
Is the price really locked?
Yes. We lock the spot rate the moment we issue your shipping label. Whatever the market does while your parcel is in transit, your rate is fixed.
